Feature-Packed Digital Base/Mobile Scanner

This scanner does exceptionally well. It's a lot better than I expected.

As an long-time amateur radio operator and train enthusiast, I just had to have one of these scanners, and the BCD260DN receives analog, DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) and NXDN (Next Generation Digital Narrowband) perfectly, right out of the box, without any mods or firmware updates required. Public service agencies in my area still use analog FM, so this radio meets my needs perfectly.

Programming analog or digital channels is a breeze with the free downloadable software available from Uniden. The same software can be used for the companion BCD160DN handheld scanner as well, which features the same specs as its desktop counterpart. Uniden even provides a USB cable which the user can use for both programming and firmware upgrades, as desired.

The BCD260DN form factor is exactly the same as the older BCD996P2 radio, and display colors and contrast can be easily changed by the user. BTW, if your area has moved public service frequencies to P25, the BCD996P2 is the radio for you. The 260DN is designed to receive analog, DMR, and NXDN. Be clear about the specs before you order, and you'll be all set.
