Analog Trunking Base/Mobile Scanner

Watch the You-Tube Video by "THE EROD 1944 CHANNEL" follow his instructions, pausing the video as you go to make sure you have followed it to the finger stroke. You should then be able to be up and scanning in a couple of hours, depending on how many frequencies you want to start off with. Forget the paperwork and disc garbage can weights that comes included with the unit, it will save you some frustration. When you pull your frequencies from RadioReference.com, take note of the labeled tone column this is your ctcss Hz tone frequency for each MHz radio frequency as they will need to be entered in the ctcss/dcs tab for each frequency. Most will be the ctcss parameter format, for example frequency 155.670 Mhz with a ctcss tone of 156.7 Hz. Then go to the modulation tab hit enter and set for NFM (Narrow Frequency Modulation) on each frequency . Done properly and redundantly, this will bring you to fruition within each frequency entered. Be patient as it is time consuming and once you learn the order of entering it will become easier. If you get messed up and frustrated, try, try again You Can perform a Factory Reset, by turning the unit off then with a little coordination or a third hand, hold down the HOLD button and the number 2 and 9 buttons at the same time and turn the unit on. Done properly the screen will tell you you were successful. I had to do it twice before I finally got the programming sequence thru my thick head. Once your up and scanning you will be smiling even though the task can be tedious and frustrating. Good Luck! Enjoy!

Instructions only online and way too many instructions for a novice

I got my BCT15X on time and I love it but it's hard to program I manually put frequencies in but as far as getting MOT and trunk tracking and all the other stuff I can't I got radio reference.com and freescan I had two people try programming it for me with no success we thought we had it programmed once but we never heard nothing on it so I don't no I watched lots of videos on how to do this but still nothing it does pop up every once in a while about sending your scanner some where in the states to get programmed but is costs more money and if they can do that it should have been done and included when you bought it it just the thought of sending it anywhere there is so much scammers out the I would send it

I do not like that I have to send my unit to Uniden Programming Service because they make it way too complicated to program the unit. $69 per added county, plus another $18 for shipping. Not to mention I have to mail it at my cost and makes sense to insure it as well. There are no written instructions, a CD sent which I have no way to use. Considering this was a gift... well. Uniden was never clear or made the buyer aware of this issue. Issue is being polite when you feel like you are scammed to pay for it to be programmed. There is a very lengthy and complicated website with programming. Again, way too techy.
