The Uniden PRO538HHFM is a full-feature AM/FM handheld CB radio that can operate efficiently from inside a vehicle using an in-vehicle adapter. Very Good at first impression.

First impression is very good as far as performance goes. Only 4 stars because there is only a cigarette lighter option for recharging rechargeable batteries and we must watch the time as there is a danger of overcharging or overheating them. There is also not an AC adaptor option unless you have one on your site and I missed it. If it lasts at least a year without problems, then it's a 5 star. That's a low bar it should meet, hopefully.

To infinity and beyond

I am very impressed with the design and performance of this product. Its's versatility and features are miles ahead of the older version of the radio which was sold by Radio Shack (TRC-232) which still works well although not as good as the PRO538HH. I highly recommend this Radio to anyone. I hope to have many years with this unit.

Range is horrible and makes it useless.

Got one of these to use in my skid steer for snow plowing with guys. At about 30', outside of the vehicle and in line of sight to the next radio, you can hear the incoming audio at about the level of a whisper with the squelch all the way down. Anything further than 3 or 4 car lengths away is just static.
