I have an r3 that i have been using since 2018 and my main reason for getting an r4w is the ease of updating it through wifi. the r3 is difficult to update since i only use mac os. So far I used the r4w just once and i was impressed, The ability to pick up KA bands is so unbelieveable in terms of the range. I used it before and after Christmas from SF to Elk Grove and back on I 80 and Ca 99 . That stretch of 80 between Vallejo and Davis is littered with CHPs on those days. Paired with WAZE and wow! truly remarkable. I turned off the x and k bands on that drive and there were zero false alarms at all . I also downloaded the R4 companion app and that impressed me more since i can change settings that fast. No buyer’s remorse at all. Highly recommended if you’re not into “arrows”.

Upgraded to the latest software, was very easy to do. It works great and is really good at eliminating false positives. I luv it!! Was thinking about getting a newer release but this one was the best.
