The 4w is one great radar detector!

To date, after my first two weeks, I am very pleased with my purchase. I continue to refer back to the manual as I learn the capabilities of the 4w. My last RD died after 20 years of use, The features on this 4w are so far above what I was using.

Love and dislike detector at the same time. Radar will not announce frequency numbers on K band alerts. It only announce “ K Band” , I live in a city where I’m surrounded by K band. Also the radar app has a lot of glitches, however it is free. I should had stayed with the R3 where frequency numbers was announced - so on the R3 for example an “K “ band alert would be announced as this “K band 142.080” and so on. So that’s my 2 cents but after 3 years of Mississippi Sun Fried my R3 , I had no choice but to upgrade. Still overall a solid purchase.

This was an upgrade from an earlier generation. Very similar and works so good. Highly recommend.
