To date, after my first two weeks, I am very pleased with my purchase. I continue to refer back to the manual as I learn the capabilities of the 4w. My last RD died after 20 years of use, The features on this 4w are so far above what I was using.
purchased a Cobra unit and returned after a few days, Way too many false signals. The Uniden R3 works when it's supposed to.
Great product! Got up and running in a very short time. Had a little sticker shock for paid upgrades, DMR and others.
Hasnt failed me yet. Came like new and no problems with it. Works great and much better than a cheap one.
Plug in and it works great. I drive all across the country daily..I never have to touch a button. It finds local frequencies quick.
This new cable definitely solved the problem of new cars, not having a cigarette lighter outlet. However, the cord is long, messy, and lacks way to mute the radar without having to reach clear up on the dash and do it on the radar itself.
Hardwire Kit was great.
Everyone says Uniden is the best, though I'm new to it.

What I ordered and quick delivery.
First impression is very good as far as performance goes. Only 4 stars because there is only a cigarette lighter option for recharging rechargeable batteries and we must watch the time as there is a danger of overcharging or overheating them. There is also not an AC adaptor option unless you have one on your site and I missed it. If it lasts at least a year without problems, then it's a 5 star. That's a low bar it should meet, hopefully.
Pretty good dosent always go off but when I needed it most it works
It picks up radar well enough, but it goes off ALOT for seemingly no reason, Aswell, it fails to pick up certain radar speed traps in my area.
Overall it does work, but not nearly as well as I expected.

The R4 arrived in new packaging, with new accessories and the detector was in new condition. I upgraded to latest firmware and went through menu preferences before installing it. I upgraded from R3blk so most of the settings were very familiar. The R4 is more sensitive than the R3 and has some added features like more k-blocks, laser gun ID and auto gps mute memory. I am loving the R4!

Really liking the scanner, don't get as much as I thought I would. Could be my programming or need a better antenna. Still a good scanner!
Works like new. Speed camera library in need of updating after updating. Misses cameras. otherwise working good.
