What can I say this product should have been in all vehicles the feature is so easy plug and play and go I recommend this for any drivers
I've had Whisler, Bell, and K40 radar detectors and this Uniden R4W is hands down the most accurate. I like that it has the ability to connect to my phone via RTach and update over wifi. The mark function is a welcome touch aswell. Thank you.

I'm hearing calls from 50 miles away. I cannot hear calls in my own city.I have Henry County, VA but nothing from Martinsville, VA police or EMS. I tried the zip code 24112 and still got nothing. I cannot pay more money when I only need 6 or 8 more frequencies. Send me a program manual or tell me how to program the frequencies I would hearing.
Handy tool to keep the car insurance rate down! Bought a quiet smooth Lexus, and the missus got it up to 80+mph before I could tell her "Ehh, honey, you're way over!" It was so smooth that you're in ticket land before you realize it. Our R8 will assist in keeping us safe.
I purchased this monitor due to the recommendation of my TDEM/RACES District Director. I am RACES/ARES EC for Comal County Texas. I struggle a bit setting the unit up but finally succeeded. To obtain a decent reception I attached the unit to my 2m/70cm antenna. My only real concern is the speaker. It works but very low volume.
Great product. I wish this product has stealth technology like the Escort Max Redline CC. I drive across several Canadian provinces where radar detectors are not allowed.
My only gripe is the BSM filtering could be better. Even using Vortex’s settings it falses more than my old Radenso DS 1.
I do like the sounds and app integration. Having wi fi is a huge bonus for updating.

I purchased the Uniden R8w and it’s worth every penny. Setup was straightforward, the build feels solid, and the performance is outstanding. The OLED display quality is clear both day and night, Detection has been reliable with minimal false alerts, which the mark feature addresses. Connectivity has been consistently dependable as well.
The unit was expensive, but the peace of mind it provides is second to none — I feel noticeably safer knowing it’s doing it's job. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a premium, worry-free detection

Its good, the RJ11 connector should have a on and off switch integrated, so you can unplugged it.
This cable worked perfect with my Porsche which only has USBC connections and no cigarette lighter in the car.
Long distance warnings from every direction, a gigantic reduction in false alarms from my last detector. Where I live there are hidden threats in the weeds on barren country roads so don't leave home without it and save violation money for some fun stuff.
