Works perfect. NOTE: You cannot use an Escort Hardwire kit with Uniden. Detector will power up, but Alarm light stays on and Mute button does not work. So if replacing an Escort Detector, you will need the Uniden Hardwire kit.
Not happy at all. Had it one week use and the external speaker does not work. Customer Service was clueless and not much help. Now I’m paying out of my own pocket to send back for a refund.

This radar has saved me in the last 14 days that I got it. this is an amazing radar and its such a big upgrade from my old one. I love this this and i would definitely recommending using this radar.
Paid for itself within the first week of purchase. Very happy and happy to put my Redline 360 in the garbage.
It really improved how much further out I can reach to talk and it really picks up talk and chatter from miles away, excellent reception definitely 5stars😁

Well the firmware should be updated before you sale a product. The scanner it's self is ok difficult to program. You set your Zipp code it really won't pick up and traffic. You do full data install still won't work it puts in the audio type wrong and the modulation is wrong also. Set the quick save moda need to install everything. For digital scanner was hoping for a little more easier set up. Would I i buy it again probably not.

I’ve only been running it for about a month now and it has gave me plenty of warning.
Solid mount, nice quality build, sturdy with very good angle adjustment. This one positions the R8 perfectly on the steep windshield in a 2009 Corvette. Used this mount with the hardwire kit for the R8 detector.
The hardwire kit is well made. The indicator lights are not too bright, and the mute button is smooth to activate placing no stress on the hook & loop attachment material. I place the first one in a 2009 Corvette. Mounting the indicator/mute button device on the driver's side console where it intersects the bottom of the dash just barely allowed the power and ground leads to reach the passenger footwell fuse block. Ideally 8" longer lead would have been good. The radar detector lead was easily concealed behind the dash, up the A pillar and along the headliner. Functions as advertised.
Its a good case. Only small issues with snap and elastic strap. This type of elastic seems to wear out fast, but we will see.
It's a little too early to give it 5 stars. The unit has a lot of options/choices and does require some time to put it all together. I'm not there yet. It would be nice if a data base (narrative) was available by State as to what types of radar are dominate and new. Customer tech support was very helpful in helping me update the software. This is the 4th Uniden I have purchased...that in itself says something.

R8W: This replaced an Escort. Gone are all the false alarms. Have not been out on highway yet, but triggers from Hondas are gone!
This cable does not work with my R7. It has the wrong end for the R7 unit. I have three other cables with the correct ends, and also do not work. The port in my Uniden is a USB B mini. Does anyone make a cable that will allow updating for my DFR7?

It’s complicated. Instructions are difficult to navigate and apply.I’m not certain how to use it to its full potential..,it’s too involved and doesn’t seem to notice the policeofficers aroundd us.
