I have a R7 and R8 they are both well worth the money. They talk to u and tell u which way the cops are coming from. If you don't wanna spend a lot of money get the R3 it works great also.
I specifically wanted this because the only "cigarette lighter" type power plug on my new car is in the center console, thus not convenient to hit the mute button. I have to hit the mute button on the unit, which is a reach since it is on the windshield. I wanted another solution to plug into the USB C ports in front of the cup holders. But with this, I still have to reach to the unit to mute. What's the point?

I am not an expert, but this unit works as it should. It will filter all false alert after two or three times on the same route, and it will alert you when a police officers are there! It is quite and it will trigger alarm for no reason. I think, UNIDEN engineers did outstanding job! I am very happy 😊. The response time is quick! It does not show exactly from which side of the road alert triggered. It shows the left and right arrows simultaneously, but it will distinguish between the front and rear. I think, it maybe an option to set the alert coming from the left or right, but it's not important to me. The unit built durable and the screen is very big, and it should work for a decade, but you should not leave it on the sun. I have a windshield tint, and it protects against exposure to the harmful UV light. I am very happy with my purchase, and I recommend it to everyone else to buy it!
With the zip code feature, I was able to start listening almost immediately. Sentinal was easy to use so I have had fun customizing what I listen to. I am still learning the features so it will take a while to give a thorough review but I am extremely happy with it so far
Great way to get about what they say are the bugs in the SDS 101st of all switch the batteries out and charge them only in the outside charger second of all only used the USB to the radio when you’re going to write or read from the sentineland you won’t have And you won’t have any of the so-called problems

During construction of the Trans Alaska Pipeline, we purchased CB radios from everyone. Uniden was the only survivor of the rugged road wear and tear. Never had a Uniden radio fail. After construction, I only purchased Uniden CB radios.

Bought a refurbished and it looks brand new. Amazon user reviews were helpful in setting up preferences; research also on what cops in your local state use (or not) Xband, etc and adjust as you drive. Mute memory is great; my biggest tip is do the "dark" mode so you don't get burn-in on the screen. Would buy again.
